The mitzva of orla mandates that fruit from trees less than three years old must not be eaten or utilized in any other way. In this episode, we discover how long three years actually are according to the Jewish law. We also explore the halachic definition of a tree, including how a fruit from a tree can be considered a vegetable, therefore evading the orla restriction. Finally, we also discuss the implications of who grows the trees and where.
