In the Jewish year and life cycle Elijah the prophet appears in different contexts and forms. In this 4 part series we will deal with his character as it appears in the Middle Ages in Ashkenaz in texts and art, and we will see how this specific historical period affected the development of his perception among the Jewish communities.
