Episode 6 – Illustrated Sukkahs
We live in a time where you don't need to collect the materials for building a Sukkah on your own – you can just order them online. But it wasn't always that simple. In the collection of the Israel Museum, you will find sukkahs that were smuggled out of Nazi Germany, a miniature sukkah for self-assembly, and wood panels covered with oil paintings to decorate the sukkah. Join Romy Neumark as she wanders through the Israel Museum and explores the extraordinary holiday of Sukkot.
Point of View is a partnership between Beit Avi Chai and the Israel Museum. Each episode presents a Jewish holiday theme through the eyes of objet d’art from the Israel Museum’s collection.
