Episode 3 – Chagall: Exodus in Jerusalem
“He must have an angel in his head,” Picasso said of him. His art was exhibited in the Louvre and other prestigious museums. The stained glass windows he designed are still there today in the opera buildings of Paris and New York. He was a proud Jew by the name Moishe Shagal, born to a Hasidic family; a passionate Zionist; a painter and multidisciplinary artist.
Join Romi Neumark on a tour around the Israel Museum and the Israeli parliament’s building as she follows artworks that weaved together the Exodus and modern history, earning Chagall his eternal fame.
Point of View is a partnership between Beit Avi Chai and the Israel Museum. Each episode presents a Jewish holiday theme through the eyes of objet d’art from the Israel Museum’s collection.
