Parashat Matot-Masei

Prof. Avigdor Shinan will talk to curator Dr. Amitai Mendelsohn about the Matot-Masei portions that conclude the Book of Numbers.

We will meet the sons of Reuben and Gad, who sought a plot of land on the east bank of the Jordan, because it was a good grazing land for their herd. In this week’s episode of "Not just the weekly Torah portion", we will look at the image of the shepherd appearing in the Bible as a symbol of leadership, and we will trace the image of the flock from the Torah to the famous works of Menashe Kadishman.
